United States History to 1877 Syllabus
Course Description:
Students study the history of the United States from the early colonial period through Reconstruction. Historical content focuses on the political, economic, and social events of the 17th, 18th, and 19th centuries. Students use critical thinking skills to expand their knowledge of
historical information by analyzing documents relating to the geographic, economic, governmental, cultural, and technological factors influencing the growth and development of the United States.

Grading Cycle Breakdown:
50%: Major Assignments
50%: Minor Assignments
Retake Procedure:
Retakes are available for students who score below an 80% on tests, quizzes, and DBQ essays (excluding district assessments). Upon receipt of the grade, the student will have five class days to complete corrections/tutorials as assigned and redo the assignment. Retakes and rewrites can earn up to an 80%, and each assignment can only be retaken or rewritten once.
Required Materials for Class:
Students should bring the following items to class every class period: laptop, agenda, and a writing utensil (pen or pencil).
